To me there are two aspects to fitness and nutrition that play the largest role in success. They are quantity and quality. More importantly it is the quantity of quality. One on its own is not enough.
When it comes to nutrition we all know how important how much we eat plays in our body composition goals. We also know how healthier foods can help this process. Sometimes though we focus only on one of those. If you are trying to lose fat then just eating less may not get you where you want to be. You need to reduce the amount of bad food you are eating but also need to increase the good foods. Hence the quantity of quality. Lower the quantity of bad quality and increase the quantity of good quality.
When people fail to reach their fitness and performance goals I usually can pinpoint it to one of three things. First is nutrition which I have already discussed. Second is they don’t work out enough and third is they aren’t Training. This is where that whole quantity of quality comes into play. Notice the use of the word training and not working out.Training has a purpose and a plan. A workout is just a piece of the training. Every workout should have a reason and that reason should line up with your training goals. If they do then that is a quality workout. The more quality workouts you can do the better you will be at whatever it is you want to be better at.
If you want to reach your goals ,whatever they may be, start thinking of the Quantity of the Quality in your nutrition and fitness plans.
